Denver, Part 2:
The next day in Minturn I taught classes at the cozy Yarn Studio, hosted by charming Kathy Morrow, who owns the shop and is also a wonderful singer who performs at some of Vail’s plushest venues. Kathy also emcees The National Needlecraft Association fashion show every year along with Doreen Connors. The Vail Daily showed up to take photos and interview me. Sarah Mausolf did the interview and told me her mother has a knitting shop in Pennsylvania and carries my books (I’m sure I know her). Everyone seemed to have a fun time and we shared wonderful food and wine.

After a bittersweet farewell to Ken we wound up back in Denver where I taught all day at Coppelia’s Needlepoint & The Shivering Sheep in Cherry Creek North with the vivacious Shellie Lubowitz presiding.

The Mile High City has lots of talented and friendly knitters… we made edgings and flowers and it was a happy day. Shellie gave out lovely gifts, and we lunched at Panera and had the cutest little 4th of July cupcakes for dessert. Shellie and her husband Bob took us to dinner at her daughter’s popular Italian restaurant the Saucy Noodle...and it was molto bene. If you have not been to Colorado, I highly recommend it. It is a feast for the eyes and the soul.
Then, back to New York after a hectic but joyful five days. Just in time to enjoy the spectacular 4th of July fireworks from our apartment terrace.

I’m hoping to have a restful summer before the next knitting madness strikes…but I kinda doubt it. Keep in touch.
